Birth Story // Karson William
They say that a child’s birth says a lot about their personality. I can completely attest to that with my own kids, Seth’s birth was peaceful, steady, and serene, while Selah’s, was fast, emotional, powerful, and surprising. And for those of you who know my kiddos, you know that there are some connections to who they are as people.
This past week I had the honor to be with my friends Kendra and Kevin as they welcomed their second little boy into the world. Kevin is my best friends brother and these guys are basically family, we traveled to Virginia to celebrate and capture their wedding day, did their engagement photos before hand and I captured both of their babies making their appearance in the world.
When their first son was born he came early and the birth was fairly textbook, so when we were waiting for little brother to come, we expected him to come early as well. So we waited, and waited, and waited some more, Kendra and Kevin decided to get induced at just shy of 41 weeks because it felt like he was just never going to come, he was to comfy in his watery world.
We joked around about what it meant for his personality that he was being forced to leave his comfortable spot, was he going to be always late, stubborn, maybe he would have a mind of his own? I have been thinking of it and I think I have it figured out.
Kendra kept telling everyone in the hospital, I just want to make it easy on you guys, I don’t want to be difficult, I am easy going, which is her personality. Because Karson ended up being induced when he was, I was for sure able to be there and Kendra’s Parents were able to make it as well. When he actually made his appearance it was perfect, not overly painful, she didn’t even have to push, and he was just there. Her OB showed up after he was born and said “well this was the easiest birth ever for me”.
Karson is his mama, he made it easy on mama when he finally came, the nurses were astounded by how quickly she processed with comfort, and how he came with ease. After he was born he barely cried, he was just snuggly and content. I have a good feeling he will be full of smiles, compassion, and laughter just like my beautiful friend Kendra.
I love you all, congratulations, I cannot wait to see who this adorable ginger grows to be.
