Caitlin + Nick // Caledonia, Michigan

When Caitlin and Nick contacted us about their backyard wedding last spring we knew that their wedding was going to be exactly how we wanted to kick off our “busy season”.  Nick is originally from West Michigan, Caitlin is from Washington DC, and they currently live in Los Angeles, California, so their backyard wedding in Caledonia was celebrated by friends and family from all over the US. 

We love backyard weddings because of the simplicity and authenticity.  There is nothing better than feeling like you are welcomed into a family’s home and life to capture one of the biggest days of a couple’s life.  The thing that really got us excited about being a part of Caitlin and Nicks day was their desire to focus on their guests, they told us multiple times that they just want to capture everyone enjoying their time and celebrating.  They wanted their day to be focused on celebrating their marriage and the people a part of their lives, which made for the perfect day.

 I loved when they gave their vows because they both mentioned something about how much they loved how the other encouraged them.  Nick spoke about how Caitlin encouraged him to be the best he can be and to follow his dreams and Caitlin mentioned how much she loved how Nick always wants to hear her opinion and cares about what she has to say.  I was moved by how much they support and inspire each other.  I am sure that their friends and family would say the same. 

Nick and Caitlin thank you so much for letting me in on your beautiful day, I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you two, I have a feeling there are a lot of big and exciting things coming your way.
