Nikki + Sam // Lowell, Michigan

Last weekend we shot our 199th wedding in Lowell, Michigan. It was the perfect sunny, fall day on Murray Lake where Nikki and Sam live, and got married. We are never disappointed with a backyard wedding and this one was absolutely perfect, down to every little detail. The thing I loved most was how the location of the wedding tied into their love story.

Nikki and Sam grew up next door to each other and during her sisters maid of honor speech she described Sam as the “boy next door” that they always had a crush on. I always love hearing love stories that span over decades of time. Although Justin and I did not know each other as kids like Nikki and Sam, we did meet when we were 19 and I love that we had the experience to watch each other grow and change over the years.

Nikki and Sam have memories of growing up in their childhood homes next to each other and after hosting their big day at their first home those memories will mean all the more.
