Kati + Brody // Grand Rapids, Michigan

I first met Kati and Brody at their engagement session late spring this year. We struggled to find a time that would work with their work schedule and my crazy weekend schedule, so we settled on doing a sunrise session. I organized my gear by the front door and headed to bed early so I could roll out of bed before sunrise to get to our session. When I got there around 6:15 these two were all smiles and ready to go, they told me they got two hours of sleep and had an hour drive to meet me. I felt awful but they didn’t care one bit. It didn’t matter how early it was, these two had me laughing until my face hurt all morning long.

Their wedding was no different, Kati and Brody are two of the most kind, fun, welcoming people you will ever meet and their friends and family are the same way. I noticed something between their engagement session and wedding day that stood out to me. I think it is incredibly rare to find a guy who is willing to sacrifice sleep and make an hour drive at sunrise for an engagement session, but Brody loves his girl. Man, he loves her.

The way he looks at her, the way he talks about her, the way he treats her, it is evident how much he cherishes her and loves her to his core. My prayers and wishes for you guys is that those feelings of cherishing each other, and true sacrificial love ( the kind where you get up before the sun to make the other person happy ), I pray that you strive for that each and every day. I also hope you keep laughing every second along the way. You two have something very special and I am so lucky that you shared your day with me.
