Birth Story // Pippa Rose
There are some conversations in life that you can never forget. They are inspiring words that change who you are and direct the path before you. I will never forget being 7 months pregnant with Selah and talking to my Mother in Law, Nancy about how I was worried about Seth, the transition, and being able to give baby #2 the amount of love she deserved with a big brother in the picture. Nancy, who always knows what to say, said “it is amazing how God makes your heart in a way that it can grow, with every child, son and daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. The heart has no limit to how much it can love, and it is an amazing thing”.
Yesterday I spent the day with my friends Jess and Jai, Justin and I watched and photographed their engagement, wedding, first pregnancy, birth, second pregnancy and birth, and now their third. I couldn’t help but think about what my mother in law told me while I was with them. The heart is boundless, and overwhelming, it is the greatest example of God’s perfect design and it is beautiful.
I spent the morning with them during their scheduled c- section and then came back when their two other daughters came to meet their baby sister. Toward the end of the meeting Jess got emotional and overwhelmed and it was around the same time that the older girls left with grandma and grandpa. Afterwards she said, “I am not sad, its just something”. If you ask me, that something, was the overwhelming rush of love (and hormones), and the feeling of her heart expanding.
Being a mama is raw, emotional, perfect, and a complete rollercoaster, I am so thankful and blessed for the opportunity to watch my good friend through her journey in motherhood, and to live it out with her.
To the Maw Fam, I love you all with the deepest part of my heart, I am so thankful for your friendship, and I cannot wait to watch our families continue to grow together.
