Tracee + Nick // Holland, MI
On Saturday we photographed Tracee and Nicks wedding day in Holland, MI at CityVu at the City Flats hotel. Their love story started when they were in college together at Western Michigan and it was hilarious hearing their friends tell the story about the night that they met during the speeches. The maid of honor and best man had some matching stories that they both mentioned. For those of you who went to college between 2005-2012 you may have attended a “Toga Party” once or twice, this was the romantic college setting where Tracee and Nick met. There were so many laughs throughout the night as their friends and family reminisced on that night and the early days when they first met. The tag line of the best man speech was a direct quote from the bride on the night she met the love of her life, “I like the way you look and smell”.
I cannot remember a best man speech that I have laughed more during… it was more of a roast of the groom but man was it fun. Although there were a lot of jokes about their college days together and when they first met, the thing that everyone also mentioned was how they knew right away that they belonged together, and how they seemed to fit perfectly together.
Tracee was described by her dad as spunky and independent, and Nick is known to be steady and grounding. It is so amazing to me how you look at two individual people and they can be so vastly different and yet you put them together and they create a balance in one another. I am sure for those of you who know Haylee and I, you would say the same thing… We balance one another, work together, and day after day continue to be two very different people that need each other desperately.
Tracee and NIck, we have had so much fun getting to know you guys and hearing about your hilarious, fun, love filled journey into marriage. We hope you have a perfect honeymoon and thank you so much for letting us capture your big day.
