Meghan + Andrew // Grand Rapids, Michigan
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I find it perfectly fitting that I am posting this blog today for so many reasons. I am so thankful for this work, that we get to spend our weekends with some of the most genuine and kind people celebrating the most amazing days. I am so thankful for my amazing second shooter and dear friend Liz who stepped up in a time of need to help Justin and I and always does, she is such a blessing and a joy. I am so thankful to say that we are now on a much needed break from shooting after 10 weddings in 9 weeks, and are focused on all that comes with post busy fall editing season. I am so thankful for what photography has provided for our family and continues to do in our lives, God has very strategically placed us in this job to fulfill so many things in our lives and to call us to something to serve others and I am beyond grateful for that.
Lastly I am genuinely so thankful for this amazing wedding blog post and for Meghan and Andrew. Meghan and I have been friends for over a decade now.. which is wild to say! She and I met when I was still in Hospitality school at Grand Valley State University and we were working at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel together. Meghan is truly a ray of sunshine, she has the kindest heart and is one of the most genuine and committed humans you will ever encounter. I am thankful for the joy she brings to the people around her, I am thankful for her faith and her story that she freely shares with others, and I am so thankful for the way she has supported our business for the last 11 + years. Meghan has honestly been one of our biggest cheerleaders and supporters and having the opportunity to capture her with the love of her life on her wedding day felt like a special and substantial moment obviously for her but also for us, a giant thank you for someone who is always recommending us and sending us work even when we were in our beginning years.
I am also so thankful for Andrew, although I do now know this kind soul quite like I do his counterpart I can tell you one thing, he loves my friend and he loves her big time. My experience with Andrew is that he is constant, consistent, and calm, he just like Meghan is so genuine and kind, you cant not smile when you are around BOTH of them because of their kind hearts and big smiles.
Congratulations to you both, I said this when we were talking earlier this year, but I am so glad you were the grand finale of our season, it was the best way to end an amazing (and busy) wedding season. I couldn’t be happier for the both of you, I cannot wait to see the path God is going to lead you down.
