Chris + Taylor // Grand Rapids, Michigan
It is no secret that weddings follow a specific flow and formality. Throughout the years we have seen pretty much every variation of a wedding day, long ceremony or short, first look or wait, outdoor or indoor. Then as we get to know our clients we have a set expectation on what the wedding will be like based on what they tell us about overall vision for their day and as we get to know their personalities.
This past Friday I photographed an old friend Chris and his beautiful wife Taylor. I did their engagement session a while ago and got to know them as a couple, then heard their vision for their perfect venue, I thought I knew everything about the day and what to expect based on knowing Chris for as long as I did. But at every wedding no matter how well I know the couple and how perfect the timeline we put together may be, there is always something that sticks with me and knocks me off of my feet.
As the ceremony began there was a moment I glanced at Chris before Taylor even started down the aisle and I saw him hand on his face trying to hold the tears from pouring down his cheeks. It was a perfect beautiful moment I will never forget about the two of them. That moment is what it is all about people, and let me tell you what, from personal experience, first look or not, it just doesn’t change that moment that you are anticipating your bride walking down that aisle.
Congratulations friends, I am so excited you found each other, and honored you let me capture the start of your adventure.
